Announcement of the 3^rd IFTC

China International Industry Fair 2006, jointly organized by National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Science and Technology of the People¡¯s Republic of China, Ministry of Information Industry, Chinese Academy of Science and Shanghai Municipal Government, will be held in November, 2006 in Shanghai, China. As an important part of the China International Industry Fair 2006, the 3^rd International Forum of Digital TV & Wireless Multimedia Communication (the 3^rd IFTC) is designed as a summit forum in the fields of digital television and multimedia Communication, steered by Shanghai Municipal Informatization Commission, Shanghai Municipal Science & Technology Commission, and Shanghai Association for Science & Technology, and hosted by Shanghai Image & Graphics Association (SIGA). The 3^rd IFTC is co-organized by Shanghai Jiao Tong Unniversity ,IEEE BTS Chapter of Beijing Section, Shanghai Institute of Communication, Shanghai Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, Shanghai Information Household Appliance Trade Association and Shanghai Communication Industry Association. Organizations and communities such as Shanghai SVA Group, Philips Research East Asia, Shanghai Oriental Pearl (group) Co. Ltd, Micronas (Shanghai) Co. Ltd., Chinese journal of Image and Graphics and www.dvbcn.com also support the rganization of 3^rd IFTC. The forum will be served by Shanghai Bao-Hua exhibition service Co. Ltd.

The 3^rd IFTC aims at extensively exchanging the information of digital TV and wireless multimedia communication industries around the world as well as the relevant policy of industry authorities; communicating the development trend and research achievements in the related realm of digital TV, IPTV, mobile phone TV, program content and security management, broadband multimedia and etc.. The forum also aims at enhancing and promoting the technologies, equipments and applications in the industry through comparing the characteristic, framework, key techniques, and maturity of various networks and platforms; and through analyzing the performance of various applications in terms of extensibility, upgradeability, manageability and portability; and through probing into the interfaces among and fusion of different networks and platforms. 3^rd IFTC will provide powerful technical backup and support for the development and innovation of digital TV and wireless multimedia communication industries of China and will serve as a bridge of information exchange between China and the world outside.

The 3^rd IFTC will be a successful summit that gathers various experts and industrial and trade authorities in the realm of digital TV and wireless multimedia communication from Asia, America, and Europe. A variety of internationally celebrated professors and scholars as well as presidents and leaders form famous industries will be present at the forum.

In this gorgeous golden autumn, we warmly welcome international and domestic experts to Shanghai, sharing your visions on Digital TV and Wireless Multimedia Communication together.

1.    Themes and Programs of the 3^rd IFTC

(1) Themes: Digital TV, IPTV, Mobile Phone TV, Wireless Multimedia Communication, Content & Security Management and etc., includes new advances in relevant techniques, discussion on operational patterns, terminal design and manufacture, and policies on industrial development.

(2) The forum program will include invited talks presented by governors and international and domestic experts.

(3) Call for academic papers

    The forum program calls for academic papers in the field of digital TV and wireless multimedia communication. The accepted papers will be published in the 11^th issue of CJIG as regular papers. The timetable of paper presentation can be found in the material of the forum. And the forum provides projectors during the session of paper presentation.

(4) Exhibition of new technologies and products

    During the forum, various new technologies and products of digital TV and wireless multimedia communication will be exhibited on the meeting place. Refer to the attachment and the forum website for detailed information.
